Fifth Grade Classes

Welcome to Mrs. Melin's 5th Grade

Hello! I am the English, religion, and reading teacher for all fifth grade students. We have much to learn in fifth grade, and we work to improve our skills of reading, writing, and communication. In addition, we examine several questions and beliefs essential to our Catholic faith throughout our religion curriculum. Lastly, we have many exciting activities throughout the fifth grade year which include a poetry unit, a trip to JA BizTown, Physical Fitness Day, a saint project, and much, much more!

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year. You may contact me by calling the school at 757-5500.

Welcome to 5V

Fifth grade is an exciting year.  We will be creating several interesting projects/reports such as the “Wear It” Geography Project, Saint Report, Insect Project, and Explorer Project.  There are exciting field trips too.  We will be spending the day at JA’s Biztown and Augustana’s Fryxell Museum and Planetarium. Mardi Gras, Physical Fitness Day, and the class picnic are also fun events.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns throughout the year.  You can reach me at 757-5500 and kvanderginst@setoncschool.com.
