Homework Policy

Rationale: To develop study skills and responsibility

Recommended Study Time: 20 minutes each school night

Parent Expectations: Always provide supervision and assistance when necessary

Weekly Homework Requirements

1. If the reader is sent home, the student has a story to read. Have your child read the story and retell it in their own words.

2. If the religion book is brought home, please guide your child on reviewing for an upcoming test. A study sheet will also be sent home.

3. Practice math facts to help with mastering facts. Begin with addition and then move on to subtraction. Use flashcards to practice or the sample test as a guide.

4. Review spelling words weekly. Spelling tests are given on Fridays.

5. Students will keep a Reading Log at home. They may choose books from school or home, and should keep track of completed books. Please keep the log in his/her "Take Home" folder.

6. A photocopied story will be sent home weekly to practice the week's phonic skills. Have your child read the story and complete the worksheet.
