Dear Parents,

The Leprechauns have returned to Ireland and what a grand celebration it was!  The children experienced so many wonderful teaching moments and didn’t ever realize how much they were learning.

During the month of April our focus will be as follows:

Religion:                       The children have worked so hard on using kind words to one another, and being a friend to everyone.  We have finished the Old Testament in our Bible and are now learning about the New Testament.  Many religious songs are lighting up our lives also.

Language:                     We have now completed our formal introduction to the alphabet.  Review and reinforcement will continue through the end of the year.  We will also be bringing home some of our first “homemade” books.

Math:                           Shape ~ Oval, Continuation of basic patterning, Number recognition 10 ~ 20.

Fine Motor Skills:          Continuation of neatness in writing our names, coloring all one way, and cutting.

Large Motor Skills:         Hopping, Throwing, Catching

Seasonal Themes:         Spring: birds, rain, clouds, rainbows and growing things

Special Days:

April                   1         Kaitlyn's Birthday

                          2        Jake's Birthday

  3                 Conferences - No School

  4         Conferences - No School

15         Book Orders Due

17         Circa

18         No School - School Improvement Day

Plans are underway for our final day of school, on May, 29th.  We are looking forward to a special Pizza Party.  Details to follow.

A very special field trip to Circa 21 is being arranged.  We will be riding on a Johannes Bus and going to see:  “Miss Nelson Is Missing”.  Both classes will come together on that day from 8:00 – 11:30 a.m..  The cost for the show and the bus will be $10.00 per student.

We are asking the children to wear dress-up clothes because it is a special day.  Permission slips will be coming soon.

We are surely enjoying the wonderful “Spring” days!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Tappendorf

Mrs. Siefker
