Mrs. McCracken's Class

I am excited about this school year! Our 6th grade science focuses on various science studies including life, earth, and physical. Students love the National Geographic films they see and the Delta science lab. Students will interact, explore and do critical thinking activities that provide them with hands-on labs! We will be doing earthworm and grasshopper dissection. Students love this activity! Students are grouped together to develop skills that make us good problem solvers. This is a great learning experience for them!

Our 6th grade social studies book is a study of ancient civilizations. We learn their geography, culture, customs, religions, laws, and many things about the way they lived. We will do 3 projects that will be done each quarter. These are very innovative. They vary from historical poster people, Seven Wonders of the Ancient World power point, movies of basic concepts we study, and making games or videos. These are done at home and at school. The field trip to the Putnam's Egyptian exhibit and IMAX is a favorite of theirs.

Please contact me if you have any concerns or suggestions. Our school number is 764-5418. I'll return your call as soon as I can.
