Mrs.
Kelly's Second Grade Internet Project

We can use Oreos® to help us
learn about math, reading, writing, geography and technology! Using Oreos®, Mrs. Kelly's
second graders and students across the world will
stack Oreo® cookies as high as he or she can. We will then average
all their individual results to achieve a final class result.
Students will be
seeing how many Oreos they can stack before the Oreos®
tumble. Students are encouraged to guess how many Oreos® they
think they will be able to stack and then compare their results.
Students may NOT use anything to stabilize
the cookie and they may NOT adjust cookies
as they stack. (i.e....once they have placed the cookie and their
hand has left the cookie, they may NOT
adjust that cookie again.) Each student will have
TWO attempts to stack Oreos® and will record the highest
amount they were able to stack before tumbling. Once the
entire class has stacked their Oreos®, they will average all their
results to turn in ONE class amount at
TechnoSpud.
On
September 27th, we were ready to try our hand at stacking!
How many do YOU think we can stack?
Our average was 17 Oreos stacked with Austin and Maggie having the
highest stack at 23! Good job!
