Mrs. Kelly's Class has Dinosaur Fun and Learns about these amazing creatures!

Mrs. Kelly's Second Graders are learning about dinosaurs.
We are amazed with these wonderful creatures from the past.  Our dinosaur activities have helped us
discover more about dinosaurs.
We hope you enjoy some of what we have accomplished so far.

We learned how paleontologists have to be careful removing a fossil from a rock.  We decided to give it a try for ourselves.  We took chocolate chip cookies and toothpicks and tried to remove the chocolate chip (which we pretended was the fossil) from the cookie (which we pretended was the rock).  Our goal was to remove the chocolate chip (fossil) without breaking it. WOW!  It's hard work being a paleontologist.

Coming soon we will think about what it would be like if dinosaurs were not extinct and we could have one for a pet! Click here to read our creative stories!

We also had a special visitor from the Putnam Museum to teach us even more about dinosaurs.  Click here to see photos!

We also MEASURED out the length of some of our favorite dinosaurs!  How big do you think they were?  Check it out here!
