Mrs. Kelly's Sixth Grade
Classroom Information
2009-2010

Here you will find some basic classroom information that you may need throughout the year.  If you ever have a question though, please don't hesitate to contact Mrs. Kelly.  Seton's Middle School office phone number is: 764-5418  (ext. 203) or you can email Mrs. Kelly at rkelly@setonschool.com.

Keeping Yourself Organized
Keep up with your assignment notebook. This is NOT an option.  I will be checking your notebook weekly (and even daily at the beginning of the year) to make sure you are writing your assignments down each day.  Being organized is the first step to being a successful student.  Remember!  It is NOT an option.

Clean out your book bag  and check your assignment notebook and folders each night.  You will be bringing home many important notes, papers, etc.  This will help keep you organized if your book bag is emptied each evening.  Use your folders!  Put your homework in them!  You will never say I don't know where it is, if you have used your folders!!!

Homework
All homework is expected on the day it is due.  Students will be issued a late slip when assignments are not turned in on time.  Late slips will need to be signed by your parent.  Late assignments may be graded down 5% each day the assignment is late, up to 3 days late.  After 4 days, the student receives a 68% (F) for the assignment.  The assignment MUST still be completed and turned into the teacher.

Grading Scale
A = 93% - 100%
B = 85% - 92%
C  = 77% - 84%
D  = 69% - 76%
F  = Below 68%

  Absences & Homework Requests
If your child is absent, please contact the middle school office at 764-5418.  Please remember to send a note with your child excusing their absence to school when they return.  Homework can be picked up in the middle school office.  Please return it on the day it is due.

Daily Snacks
You may send a simple, nutritious snack each day with your child.  Please do not send drinks.  Your child should be able to eat their snack in about ten minutes.

Birthdays
If you plan to send a birthday treat for your child’s birthday, again I ask that it be a very simple treat.  Please make sure the treat is easy to eat and easy to clean up.  I do ask you that send napkins along with the birthday treat to help us keep our desks clean.  This year we have nineteen students in our class.
