Second Grade SOS (Study and Organizational Skills)
Watch for monthly SOS notices coming home
in the student's book bag. Insert them into the family folder. Please
read and review often.

1. Label ALL sweatshirts,
coats, etc. with your child's name!
2. Replenish school supplies
such as pencils, erasers, and glue sticks.
3. Empty their take home
folder each night!
4. Read twenty minutes each
night and continue to practice their math facts.
5. Don't forget to bring take
home folder back to school each day. |
January
1. Continue to memorize math facts,
addition and subtraction, 0-18.
2. Learn the Act of Contrition and
prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
3. Empty their take home folder each
night!
4. Come to school ready for winter
weather and label all hats, gloves and coats with your
name.
5. Don't forget to bring take home
folder back to school each day. |
December
1. Continue to memorize math facts, addition
and subtraction, 0-18.
2. Study weekly spelling words as needed.
3. Empty their take home folder each night!
4. Read twenty minutes each night.

1. Have a quiet work space at home to complete
homework.
2. Have pencils, erasers, and other school
supplies on hand at home.
3. Empty their take home folder each night!
4. Look over school work, fixing their
mistakes, and complete and return any unfinished work.
5. Don't forget to bring take-home folder back
to school each day.

1. Study spelling words as needed. Test is on Friday.
2. Do one row of math facts practice sheet per night
to prepare for Friday's Math Time Test.
3. Label all sweatshirts with your name.
4. Return library books on due date: 2I-Thursdays,
2K-Tuesdays, 2M-Mondays
5. Don't forget to bring take-home folder back to
school each day.
September
1. Place notes, assignments and daily work inside
their take-home folder.
2. Take their take-home folder home each day after
school.
3. Sort through the folder with an adult at home
nightly.
4. Complete any assignments and place back in the
take-home folder along with notes for the school.
5. Bring their take-home folder back to school each
day.
