Welcome parents and students! I am Pat Voss, and I teach all 7th and 8th grade Social Studies.

In 7th grade, students will study American History up to 1865. Our main goal in this course will be to gain a knowledge and appreciation of our American heritage. Hopefully this will be accomplished in a variety of ways that will make history fun and interesting.

Eighth grade is a very busy year. Students will study the U.S. Constitution, Illinois State government, and 20th Century history. Students will be required to pass both a federal and state constitution final.

In both grades there will be an emphasis placed on the importance of current events. Hopefully students will be able to see how events of the past affect our country today.
