SOS

Watch for monthly SOS notices coming home in the student's book bag. Insert them into the family folder. Please read and review often.

May SOS

1.The school year is winding down...Be thinking about summer learning opportunities for your child.

2. For the remaining few weeks...

  • Continue to check student's planner.
  • LATE work must be completed!
  • Study WITH your child - there will be MANY tests as we finish up the year.

3. Summer Work:

  • READ, READ, READ!
  • Math Facts - It never hurts to continue practicing.
  • Complete workbook pages that we didn't do in school.
  • Discuss ways to improve for next year.

4. 5/16 - Physical Fitness Day, 5/26 - No School, 5/28 - Class Picnic, 5/30 - Last Day of School

5. Did you use SOS to help improve your organizational skills?

 

April SOS

1. Fourth Quarter is here! Our expectations for the students are at the highest! Behavior and effort in this final quarter are critical.

2. Mark your calendars! April 30 is our tentative date for: 4th Grade Family Tea Presenting "U.S.A. on Parade"

3. Watch for test/quiz dates in your student's planner and teacher newsletter.

4. Study days before a test rather than the night before.

5. 4/11 Walk-A-Thon Kickoff, 4/14 - Field Trip, 4/18 - No School

March SOS

1. Check your student's planner for State Report Due Dates!

2. State Floats At Home Project - Be creative, use time wisely, use facts gathered at school. Due date: Apr. 2

3. Keep a consistent "study time" as the spring sports and activities begin.

4. Create study guides with your child using book questions, worksheets, etc.

5. Are you using your SOS Binders? Are you getting all the important papers?

6. Spring/Easter Break: Fri. March 21-March 30

 

February SOS

1. Second Semester is in full swing - check with your student regarding needed supplies.

2. Six Flags Six Hour Reading Club - Read orally with your child 15 min. nightly. Due date: Feb. 28

3. Prioritize homework - most difficult first

4. Encourage your child to study days before a test rather than hours.

5. President's Day/Mid Winter Break: Feb 18-20 No School

 

January SOS

1. Add this to your list of New Year's Resolutions: Attend a Seton Parent's Club or Booster Club meeting!

2. Join us for our class Masses!  4T-Jan. 10  4C-Jan. 24  4V-Feb. 21

3. Continue to check your student's planner. Help your child prioritize homework.

4. Catholic Schools Week - Touching Hearts and Inspiring Souls January 27 - February 1

5. Mark your calendars: Open House/Take Your Child to Lunch Tuesday January 29

 

December SOS

1. Don't let the hustle and bustle of the season take away from keeping your child organized. Continue to check the assignment notebook, completed homework, and study for tests with your child.

2. Take time to pray the Advent Family Prayer to experience the joy of the season!

3. Be sure to check the calendar for important dates this month!

4. Replenish school supplies if needed.

5. Have a blessed and peaceful Holiday!

 

November SOS

1. Put all important papers in a special place. Maybe extend the binder to include these!

2. Be sure to set aside time to read with your child.

3. A Great Resource for Parents - The Organized Student by Donna Goldberg.

4. Make note cards of facts from the study guide. Play concentration with the facts.

5. Organization is the Key to Success!

 

October SOS

1. Be sure to check your child's book bag daily and check for completed homework.

2. Designate a special location and time for homework.

3. Study with your child!

4. Utilize study guides and notes when preparing tests.

5. Organization is the Key to Success!

 

September SOS

1. Be sure to check your child's book bag daily.

2. Remember to sign the Assignment Notebook.

3. Review homework and be sure it is returned on time!
