Homework Policy

Students will have light homework in first grade. It is a good practice to go over all daily work sheets with your child each evening. This reinforces our concepts and gives students reading opportunities.

Periodic practice for five to ten minutes with Our Math Facts and Spelling Words will be a tremendous help to your child. This can be accomplished in an informal setting such as riding in the car together. Each student will have a set of high frequency flash cards. Five to ten minutes of practice in a formal setting (desk or kitchen table) several times a week will be helpful. In addition, a work sheet may come home occasionally to be completed and returned to me the next day.
