Dear Parents,

The count down until the last day of school has begun.  As I told the students however, we will continue to work right up until the last possible day.  We have a lot of exciting material left to cover before your child goes on to the 4th grade.

Even though we are entering into the last few weeks of school, please continue to check your child’s backpacks every night.  Also please continue to help your child study for upcoming tests.  The students will be writing their own weekly schedules from now on.  This will help them get ready for next year when they are required to fill in an assignment notebook.

We will be writing one last book report in class.  The book report will be written on Friday, May 9th.  The sign up sheet has been posted in the classroom for several weeks.

Tomorrow, May 2nd, is the Seton Walk-a-Thon.  Thank you for all of your support in making this event possible.  Let’s all pray for a beautiful day!  Please make sure your child wears his/her 2008 Seton Walk-a-Thon T-shirt with shorts, jeans, or sweat pants.  Everyone needs to wear tennis shoes and socks as well.  The rain date for this event is Friday, May 9th.  Students will be asked to bring a sack lunch on this day.  We will be eating lunch in our classrooms after the walk.  Water will be provided with lunch.  A Popsicle will be provided once the students reach the park.  Please make sure to sign and return the Walk-a-Thon permission slip as soon as possible to ensure that your child is able to participate in this fun day.

Physical fitness day will be held on Friday, May 16th, rain or shine.  Again please make sure your child wears comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.  The bike rodeo will be help on Tuesday, May 20th.  Officer Powell will be sending more information about this event home soon.  Our class picnic is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27th, at Prospect Park.  Please note that this is the day after Memorial Day.  There will be no school on Monday, May 26th in observation of Memorial Day.  Information and permission slips for the class picnic will also be sent home soon.

Our last day of school is Friday, May 30th.  School will be dismissed shortly after the 8:30, all school closing Mass.  This Mass is being planned by the 3rd grade.  Please join us in this last celebration of the Eucharist for the 2007-2008 school year.  Fourth quarter report cards will be going home after Mass.

I have enjoyed working with you and your child this year.  You all have wonderful children.   I wish you and your child the best of luck in the future.   Hopefully everyone has a safe, fun filled summer.  God Bless you.
