SOS

Watch for monthly SOS notices coming home in the student's book bag. Insert them into the family folder. Please read and review often.

April

School Responsibilities

  • For 10 minutes each day, the student will work quietly.
  • Practice the "5" good listening skills daily.
    1. Eyes on speaker
    2. Lips closed
    3. Ears listening
    4. Sit up straight
    5. Hands and feet to ourselves

Home Responsibilities

  • Practice providing personal information.
  • Practice prayers nightly.
    1. Sign of the Cross
    2. Our Father
    3. Hail Mary
    4. Glory Be
    5. Angel of God

 

March

School Responsibilities

  • Provides personal information about self (name, address, phone number and birth date).
  • For 5 to 10 minutes each day the child will work quietly (no talking).

Parental Responsibilities

  • Reinforce child's ability to provide personal information about self.
  • Reinforce child's ability to tie, zip and button.

 

February

School Responsibilities

  • For 10 to 15 minutes each day, the child independently engages in developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Refrains from disturbing the activities of others during independent center time.

Parental Responsibilities

  • Establish a period of quiet time (color, read, puzzle play) to develop the ability to sit quietly for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Refrains from disturbing parents while they are on the phone or talking with another adult or sibling.

 

January

School Responsibilities

  • Establish a quiet working routine in the classroom.
  • Review and reinforce school routine. (Examples: hanging up coats, hats, mittens; emptying folders and placing in cubbies)

Parental Responsibilities

  • Establish a study routine. (Example: quiet place with Mom and/or Dad to do homework or review letters and sight words)
  • Establish a nighttime routine. (Example: a set story time, bath time, personal reading time, and bed time)

 

December

School Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for remembering your personal belongings.
  • Be responsible for practicing weekly reading books.
  • Be responsible for writing upper and lower case letters.
  • Be responsible for writing numbers 1-20

Parental Responsibilities

  • Mark all children's clothing. (Coats, Hats, and Mittens)
  • Encourage your child to practice kindergarten skills.

 

November

School Work Habits

  • work quietly at tables
  • complete task within given time frame
  • wait until directions are completed to begin work

Homework Routine

  • practice kindergarten skills daily for ten minutes
  • ***letters, sounds, numbers, reading, writing***

We work and play and make good friends along the way.

 

October

Clean up after yourself at school.

  • put crayons in box
  • put pencils in box
  • put glue sticks in box

Clean up after yourself at home

  • make bed
  • put clothes away
  • put toys in their home

Look at your teacher when she is talking

September

Parent Responsibility:

1. Empty your child's book bag on a daily basis.

2. Check your child's folder. Read notes from the PLEASE READ side and return notes on the same side.

Child Responsibility:

1. Give book bag to your parents.

2. Organize folder: PLEASE READ MY WORK

3. Take care of supplies.
