The following photos
were taken during the Webelos I Den geology campout on November
1 - 2, 2008. The Webelos I den traveled to Coralville Lake in
Iowa to see the Devonian Fossil Gorge. This gorge was formed
during historic flooding of the area that stripped the soil and
rock down to the bedrock layer. The bedrock has millions of
fossils imbedded in it. The trip was a fascinating learning
experience. The boys enjoyed exploring the gorge. After
visiting the gorge, the den traveled to Loud Thunder Scout Camp
and stayed overnight in a cabin. The boys enjoyed the
activities at Loud Thunder and completed work on the Geology
Activity Badge. Pictures include exploring the Devonian Fossil
Gorge, working on the Geology AB and fun at Loud Thunder.
