SOS

Watch for quarterly SOS notices coming home in the student's book bag. Insert them into the family folder. Please read and review often.

4th Quarter

A Second Grader Should:

1. In preparation for First Communion, attend mass weekly and discuss receiving the Eucharist.

2. Read nightly! Encourage your child to read at their level.

3. Practice math facts every night! Addition and Subtraction facts 0-18 should be memorized..

4. Please try to return your library books by Thursday of each week.

5. Don't forget to check your folder nightly and bring it back to school each day.

 

3rd Quarter

A Second Grader Should:

1. Continue to memorize math facts, addition and subtraction, 0-18.

2. Read fifteen minutes each night. Ask your child if he/she is taking AR quizzes..

3. Study weekly spelling words as needed.

4. Ask your child if he/she needs any supplies (pencils, crayons, or glue sticks) replenished.

5. Empty the Take-Home folder each night. Make sure your child has this folder everyday.

 

2nd Quarter

A Second Grader Should:

1. Continue to memorize math facts, addition and subtraction, 0-18.

2. Read fifteen minutes each night and record books on the Reading Log.

3. The weather is getting cooler! Label all sweatshirts with your child's name or initials.

4. Look over school work, discuss any mistakes, and complete and return any unfinished work.

5. Upcoming Mass Dates: 11/17 - 2W, 12/1 - 2I, 12/15 - 2M

 

1st Quarter

A Second Grader Should:

1. Take home their folder each night and sort through papers with an adult.

2. Establish a study area at home that is quiet and complete with necessary supplies. (pencils, erasers, etc.)

3. Establish a nightly routine - practice spelling words, math facts, do other homework papers and READ.

4. Bring take home folder to school each day with any assignments or notes for the school.
