Dress Code and Uniform Sources

Category Boys & Girls Grades 1-8 Boys 1-8 Girls 1-8
Solid Shirts with Collar: - Polo (short or long sleeve in red, white, navy blue, light blue or light yellow).
- Turtleneck (red, white, navy blue, light blue or light yellow).
- Long or short sleeve plain Oxford (or similar) Dress shirts (red, white, or navy blue).
- White undershirts only.
- Modest in appearance (not too tight or too loose).
- Must be long enough to be tucked in.
- White undershirt only - No cowl necks, no velour, no lace, no ruffles, no cap sleeves.
- White undershirts only.
Solid Navy Pants &
Plaid Jumpers/Skorts, Skirts/Culottes:
- Dress slacks in solid navy blue.
- Corduroy is permitted.
- Capri pants are permitted.
- Maximum of 2 front and 2 back pockets.
- No denim jeans, no leggings, no sweats.
- No decorations or trim.
- No cargo pants (i.e. no side pockets allowed).
  - Plaid uniform jumper with navy shorts underneath.
- Plaid uniform skorts.
- Plaid skirts and culottes for Grades 4-8 only.
Solid Navy Dress Shorts: - Permitted during warm weather from April-October.
- No cargo shorts.
- Modest length to at least mid-thigh.
   
Sweaters & Sweatshirts: - Cardigan solid red, white, navy blue, light blue or light yellow.
- Seton red, blue, grey, light blue, or light yellow crewneck sweatshirt over a collared uniform shirt.
- No other logo or hooded sweatshirts.
- Grey, light blue or light yellow Seton Middle School sweatshirt for grades 6-8 only.
   
Socks: - Knee or crew ankle socks.
- Solid colors of red, white, or navy blue.
  - Tights are acceptable in navy or white.
Shoes: - Tennis shoes on Gym days.
- Conservative dress shoes for students' safety and comfort (no heels, slip-ons, or decorations) with closed toe.
- No slip-on or clog style shoes or sandals.
   
Haircuts: - Haircuts must be a respectable style.
- No shaved heads, or portions thereof.
- No false hairpieces.
- Extreme hair coloring and/or bleaching is not permitted.
- Hair above eyebrows, ears, and shirt collars.  
(Optional) Belt: - Solid black, blue, brown, or white.    
(Optional) Jewelry & Make-up: - No costume jewelry may be worn.
- Religious medals should be worn under the clothes.
- No excessive make-up and no nail polish may be worn.
- No body markings.
- Earrings are not permitted. - One set of small post earrings is permitted.
"Wear What You Want" & "Dress Up" Days: - Observe modesty, conservative dress and appropriate attire in keeping with the respectful and religious atmosphere at Seton.   - Shorts at least mid-thigh length.
Mass & Field Trip Days: - Students are to be in uniform.    

In addition to this document, the discretion of the Administration will apply for all students. Students who repeatedly violate the dress code will forfeit participation in "Wear What You Want" days.

Additional uniform apparel may be purchased through special offers provided by the Parents' Club.

Apparel may also be purchased through local merchants as long as it meets with the standards set forth in the preceding Seton Catholic School Dress Code.
