Walk-A-Thon Fundraising Tips
FUNDRAISING TIPS
-
When soliciting
pledges for the Seton Walk-A-Thon or for any fundraiser, ALWAYS go
with an adult.
-
When asking for
sponsors door-to-door, children should never enter anyone’s home.
-
When crossing
the street, cross only at crosswalks and look both ways.
-
Return home
frequently when collecting money, so children are not carrying large
amounts of money.
-
Use only first
names and never give out addresses or phone numbers.
REMEMBER:
-
Each Seton
family is strongly encouraged to raise at least $40 in pledges.
-
Be sure to
collect the pledge money at the time of solicitation, NOT after the
Walk-A-Thon.
-
For prize
consideration, the Walk-A-Thon envelope must be returned to your
homeroom teacher by Friday, April 24, at 2:50 p.m.
SAMPLE SCRIPT TO USE
WHEN SOLICITING
“Hi, my name is
____________, and I’m a student at Seton Catholic School. I will be
participating in a Walk-A-Thon on May 2nd to raise money for
the new social studies curriculum at Seton School. Would you be
interested in sponsoring me in the Walk-A-Thon?”
NOTE:
-
While any and
all pledges are accepted, a $10 flat donation is suggested for the
three-mile Walk-A-Thon.
-
Checks may be
made payable to “Seton”.
-
Included in your
walker packet is a donation receipt that you may provide to donors
if they request it. If you need additional copies of the
donation receipt, please ask at the school office or download them
from
www.setonschool.com under the “Development” tab.
