Parent's Club October Minutes

The second Parents’ Club meeting was held on Tuesday, October 9, 2007. President Janine Parr called the meeting to order. The meeting was opened with a prayer.

The next meeting will not be held until January.

Old Business

Secretary: No correspondence was available to pass.

Commission Meeting Report: Lara Hodge read the minutes from the commission meeting.  These minutes are posted on the Seton web site.

Treasurer's Report: Money has been coming in from a donation letter sent out this summer for Boo-gie nights.  Actual numbers were not available that night.

Cub Scouts Update:  Bob Graves reported on the progress of cub scouts at Seton.  Last Spring books were purchased funded by Parents Club, Mr. Graves thanked the Parents Club again for their support.  Parental involvement and student participation are both up from last year.  There are 60 active cub scouts this year.  They are in the middle of their popcorn sale.

Girl Scouts Update:  The girl scouts is currently looking for a new coordinator, this is a great way to volunteer for the school with minimal time commitment.  If you are interested please contact Stephanie Noe.

Sweatshirt Sales:  There are a few extra items in each office.  We do only have one sale a year.  The school netted about $3,000 from the sale. 

Boo-gie Nights:  Kitty Grevas and Rita Ostrom reported that plans are coming together for the upcoming event.  If anyone is interested in being on the committee next year and has not been contacted yet about it please see one of these woman.  Dance lessons will be offered on the Tuesday and Thursday before the event, contact Rita about this fun opportunity.

Book Fair:  Will be held during conferences in both buildings.

Wreath Sales:  Johnna Adams reported that they are still looking for volunteers for the week of wreath delivery.  If you are available contact Johnna or Tim Adams.  The sales goal this year is $55,000 for the students to earn and extra ½ day off school.

Principal’s Report: Jane Barrett reported on the new Safe Environment Curriculum.  Resources were passed out to everyone in attendance; all materials are available to anyone in the office.  This program is designed to go hand in hand with Protecting God’s Children and is taught in the classroom at an age appropriate level. 

Mrs. Barrett also reported that the playground equipment was damaged and they are in the process of getting a replacement part.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, January 8th at 7:00 pm at Culeman’s Hall
