New Business

Father Pilon presented his explanation of the School’s Budget.  Seton receives income from Tuition, Development & Fundraising, which last year totaled approximately $1.35 million, leaving $650,000 balance to be paid by the church to cover all expenses of the school.  He presented that if the school pulls $40,000 from the endowment that has been set up for the school the church could lower their responsibility to the school.

The three churches have donated $5 million to support Seton in the past 10 years.

Seton reserves have went from $14,000 to $322,000 in that time period.  St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart are running at a lose after donating to Seton.

The Endowment was set up to create an income to pay off expenses at Seton.  $40,000 of the endowment was ear marked in the budget to pay for expenses so that money should be used.  This was discussed at the last commission meeting and the pastoral board has agreed upon this.

Several parents voiced their opinion on the issue stating that there was an expectation that the excess money earned from extraordinary fundraising efforts in the past year were to be used above and beyond normal expenses.

Father said he would take the concerns to the Pastoral Board.

Mrs. Barrett spoke that fundraising efforts are still much appreciated and needed and that Seton is doing very well.  We have five new families joining the school in the next month.

Father closed with a prayer.

Attendance: estimate - 60

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.

Respectfully submitted,
Leslee Schueneman
